We can somehow create a million excuses not to create. But what if we just did the thing we wanted to do? What if Create didn't start with a Capital C? What if it was just a thing we did because we like to? Because we can? What if we weren't afraid to put our art, and ourselves, out there? To tell our stories? To show our talents? To 'fail'? What if we shared and celebrated the progress we're making? The days we have trouble creating? What if we asked for help when we felt stuck? And didn't care 'what everyone else thinks' about it? What if we celebrated each other for doing the thing we choose to do? How much joy there would be in the world!
For the next 100 days, we invite you to participate in #The100DayProject, brought to us by Elle Luna and Lindsay Jean Thomson. You can see the full details of the project here. But the real ask is that you do something everyday for 100 days (starting today and ending on July 12) and share it on your Instagram.
No one is expecting museum quality work, and you shouldn't either. Your action can be as simple as putting one dot on a piece of paper to encourage yourself to draw more or as complex as designing a part of a building each day for 100 days. Or anything in between: working on new recipes, choreographing dances, creating new yoga sequences, taking one photo everyday, writing a sentence for the novel you're working on, throwing (or playfully destroying) pots, anything!! Whatever it is, (try to) do it everyday. And if you miss a day, that's okay. It's really okay. The world will go on. You will create again. It is not the end. Just come back to it. That one dot, ingredient, pose, word, mound of clay.
And of course, in the spirit of Lady Guns Global, we'd love to celebrate you and share what you're working on too! Please use #100dayswithLGG when posting on Instagram and we'll share it on ours as well.
Cheers, to doing the thing you choose to do!
