Photo Director & Lead Photographer at Homepolish
(I also run their Instagram!)
WHAT SHE DOES FOR LOVE: I love finding what I think is beautiful, interesting, striking, simple and unique and capturing it through photography (cc: my Instagram). I also love to style the spaces I photograph and work on the always ongoing design project that is my apartment.
STYLE + BEAUTY: The items in my closet I value most are the comfy, quality basics I wear at least once a week, but would wear daily if I could (think: vintage Levi's or fitted trousers paired with a white linen button down or fitted tank + flowy sweater combo and shiny black bluchers). And then there are the items I sport daily, like my miscellaneous collection of simple gold + silver hammered rings, an assorted mix of mismatched gold earrings that I rarely change out, and a stick of Burt's Bees. My makeup routine is consistent and simple, and I survive by Psst! (the dry shampoo) because I only wash my hair a couple times a week (my friends have all heard me soapbox about this ;).
2015 GOAL: Plan an epic trip to see multiple places I've never seen before. I did this in August!
A LADY SHE ADMIRES: My mom is the most badass person I know. She embodies independence, strength and wisdom. When she was 18, she joined the army to get her GI Bill to put herself through college, then she became a teacher and had me and the rest is history. She has taught me countless invaluable lessons that have deeply shaped the person I am grateful to be today, and she constantly provides loving support for even my smallest accomplishments. Plus, she's a babe.

WHY SHE’S A LADY GUN: "This is my roommate and wonderful friend, Claire. She's the head photographer at Homepolish and has a wonderful eye for home decor. She's super crafty and really good at brightening a room with things she makes or finds."
HER INITIAL REACTION TO HER LADY GUNS NOMINATION: PEW PEW! Just kidding. Well, sort of. I definitely made that sound in my head. And then I thought, "Wow, being friends with Eva has finally paid off." JUST KIDDING. I was really flattered and hoped I was actually deserving of such a powerful title. Love you more, Eva.
ON EMPOWERMENT: I’ve learned that stress gets you nowhere and plans of action yield much better results and greater happiness. [Don’t] think that you can't achieve something just because of your past or current circumstances. It's incredibly empowering to acknowledge what you want to change and then change it. The other side feels like a breath of fresh air.
ON HER EPIC TRIP: I spent the month on the west coast, starting in Seattle, working my way down to Portland (via train), San Francisco (via plane) and then road-tripping (via car) down Highway 1 ending in SoCal. It was incredible.
Three scenes from three different apartments I have recently photographed in NYC. Each top my list of all time favorite spaces.
