Art Director at W Magazine

WHAT SHE DOES FOR LOVE: "I try to travel as often as possible, preferably alone, as then you meet more people. Playing guitar and writing songs are are also things I love to do."

HER BEAUTY: "I’m kinda obsessed with skincare, but it has to be simple! I always keep products minimal and make sure they are as natural and organic as possible. I’m currently very into face oils; they’ve helped keep my skin hydrated all through this extremely long and cold winter."

HER 2015 GOAL: "Travel more! I really want to go on a road trip across America, just getting in a car and not really having a plan, just kinda driving to wherever I feel like at the moment."

A LADY SHE ADMIRES: "I have always been a fan of Debbie Harry. She was one of my earliest music and style influences. She just did her own thing in a very male dominated field. Total badass!"

WHY SHE'S A LADY GUN: "Lina is the art director at W magazine. She's originally from Sweden, but grew up in Australia and has lived in New York for almost a decade. She's unbelievably talented, has fantastic personal style, and is the most loyal friend."

HER INITIAL REACTION TO HER LADY GUNS NOMINATION: "Surprised, but excited and honored!"

ON CHALLENGES: "[I've had to overcome] lots! Both personal and professional. There are always going to be challenges in life; I think it's all about how you deal with them. One challenge was just after I graduated, a big recession hit and nobody was hiring. So I ended up being unemployed for almost six months, I couldn't even get a job at McDonalds! This was extremely depressing and I found myself becoming very passive and not doing much. Until one day I said 'enough.' I decided to change my attitude about it, and just make up my mind that I was going to get a job within a week. And so I did! As a sales representative for a startup. It wasn't the most glamorous job but it was a job and it got me motivated and confident again."

ON HARD WORK AND SUCCESS: "Whatever it is that you want to do, go for it! But be prepared to work hard for it and to keep going even when everyone around you is telling you to quit. That’s when you will succeed."

ON A PROJECT SHE'S REALLY PROUD OF: "Stefano Tonchi, the Editor-in-Chief here at W Magazine, wanted to launch a supplement focusing only on Art. So W Art was born and I was given the task to design this magazine from scratch. This was really a fun, but challenging project. W Art is released twice a year and the next issue will be out next week with a very interesting cover star!"
